Professor Chua Tat Seng Conferred the CCF Overseas Distinguished Contributions Award



The CCF Award Committee has decided to bestow this honor upon Prof Chua, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in computer science and his significant contributions to the development of China's computing industry. The "CCF Overseas Distinguished Contributions Award" is granted to individuals or organizations outside of China who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of China's computer science field through scientific research, academic exchange, talent development, and international collaboration.


Professor Chua Tat-Seng is an internationally renowned scientist in the fields of artificial intelligence, multimedia, and information retrieval. He is the founding dean of the School of Computing at the National University of Singapore and established the first overseas joint laboratory with Tsinghua University. Over the years, he has maintained close collaborations with institutions in China, contributing to the training of more than 100 research talents in computer science for top Chinese universities.
